RE: The Felicity of the Commons ( BroadsheetDAILY, October 9 )
Some of the suggested improvements already exist a very short walk north in Hudson River Park: for example, a kayak pier and tennis courts.
Obviously, there is never enough of any of nature’s gifts. The one thing everyone needs and can use at any age and any time is GREENERY: Lawns, gardens, and the serene view of the river. Let’s never lose what we already have and always continue to maintain and even enlarge the peace and beauty of our natural surroundings. We are very lucky to have them.
On another note, we must remember that everyone who lives here pays for the maintenance of our gardens etc. in our rents or other fees. It is a small amount, but as stakeholders we have the right to a greater voice than visitors or others who do not live here. Visitors are always welcome as are their suggestions or ideas. But residents should always be the “deciders”.
