Letters

Posted on September 11, 2016

To the editor,
Just wanted to tell all our friends and neighbors that we developed warm and caring relationships with during our tenure at Gateway Plaza “Happy Birthday.”

Even though we live in Florida our hearts are still in Battery Park City especially during this time of year. We say ‘Happy Birthday’ because on that horrific day 15 years ago, we were all born on that day. We (community) came together on that day and years after, we made sure that we introduced ourselves to those persons that we saw on a daily basis before 9/11.

We had an inherent need to put a name with the face. We laughed, cried and shared stories together and even sometimes a drink.

So even though we are not there physically, we are always there mentally and want you all to know that we are thinking of all of you.

Fond Memories of the people and community that made Battery Park City such a friendly, loving, caring place to live.
