To the editor,

The BPCA spent approximately $200,000 dollars on a “survey” concerning Battery Park City.

Among those surveyed were visitors, workers and residents, now I ask you, what input should a tourist form Arkansas who walks our neighborhood for a few days have???

What input should a worker, who spends the majority of his/her day in an office, emerging only for lunch or a few drinks after work, have on our neighborhood decisions?

These workers return to their homes in Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey and the outer boroughs They neither live here or pay our outrageous Ground Rent or Pilot.

Among the issues at hand are eliminating the Arcades, narrowing the streets, and changing the street lighting. These are issues to be decided by the residents, and only the residents, not visitors or workers.
