To the editor:
In regard to Mr. Goodkind’s letter in the April 28 BroadsheetDAILY that suggests BPC should become part of New York City:With corruption appearing to ooze out in many directions from the Mayor’s office, why would anyone want to place Battery Park City under the city’s control?

A far better solution would be to increase local representation on the BPCA board; given all the neighborhood concern, it seems probable that this will eventually happen.

Ironically, Mr. Goodkind’s letter appears directly below the Broadsheet article which discusses downtown construction and includes this quote, “Seven weeks ago, four elected officials  representing Lower Manhattan wrote to City Hall for…oversight of construction in Lower Manhattan. They have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply”.

Why in the world would we want to subject our community to the unresponsiveness or worseof City Hall?

Letters

To my neighbors in BPC, Last week a cyclist named Olga Evgleska Cook was killed by an automobile driver on Chambers Street and West Street. This could have easily been any one of the residents of Battery Park City, or even worse, one of our children, whether on a bicycle or simply walking home. My...

Letters

To the editor: On June 28 the Democratic registered voters of the tenth congress district will have the right to nominate to re-elect congressman Jerrold Nadler to represent them for another two years. Letters

On Jun 14, 2016, we received this email: Just before 8pm on Monday June 13th, a group of 8 year-old boys was playing nicely in Rockefeller Park when 20 screaming teenagers ran onto the field. The majority of the teens claimed spots within the Pavilion while three teens took their “posts” in the middle of...

To the editor, I was seriously pissed as I read an article about the Battery Park City Authority’s interest in removing the colonnade on South End Avenue. The street as it is, is pleasant and allows choices of sun or shade and so on. However my more serious question is why the BPCA continues to...

Letters

To the editor: Re: Cycling Fatality I was extremely sorry to hear of the cyclist fatality on Chambers Street this Sunday. Sad as it, is it was no shock to hear it. I have been biking daily on these streets for over 30 years. The protected lane that travels the length of the West Side...
